Gulf Coast children’s photographer Katherine Swetman will help you get to know your camera, teach the basics of digital photography, and show you how to tell your family’s story through preserved images you can enjoy for a lifetime. Each class includes instruction, hands-on shooting, critiques, and optional homework.
Week 1: Fundamentals of digital photography – how to use your camera (shutter speed, iso, aperature)
Week 2: Light, perspective and composition
Week 3: Digital storytelling – from sports games and family vacations to dance recitals and Christmas photos, learn how to tell your story through photography
Week 4: Post-production – editing, printing, and sharing to preserve your memories
OPTIONAL ADD-ON Week 5: 30 min. one-on-one shooting lesson and critique at location of your choice with participants of your choice!
